A Typical Tasty HCG Diet Menu
In order for the HCG drops to do their maximum work, they need to be accompanied by a sensible diet. The good news is that as your appetite is suppressed, the lower calorie amounts allowed will not leave you hungry. The better news is that there are plenty of tasty foods that you can eat on the HCG diet menu and still enjoy mealtime.
Here are a couple of sample days on the recommended 500-calorie-per-day diet that works best with HCG drops:
Day 1
Breakfast: One orange and one cup of coffee with milk
Lunch: One grilled chicken breast with slaw salad
Dinner: Grilled shrimp and lettuce salad
Snacks during the day: Strawberries and bread sticks
Day 2
Breakfast: One cup coffee and one cup yogurt
Lunch: Grilled tilapia and asparagus
Dinner: Grilled pork and steamed spinach
Snacks: One apple, strawberries, Melba toast
Remember, be sure to drink lots of water as you follow this diet. Also, coffee and tea will not add much to your calorie intake, so feel free to indulge in those beverages but be careful about your caffeine intake and the danger of dehydrating by going overboard with coffee and tea. Watch out for the danger of adding sweet creams to either; you will be wasting many of the precious calories that you are allowed to have on the HCG diet menu. Some people find coffee and/or tea to be appetite suppresants, so they might help you in the battle.
The menus above are only examples. Various types of meat (other than red) can be substituted each day, as long as the quantity does not exceed 100 grams, uncooked. You can mix in a wide variety of fish and other seafood, and there are many ways to prepare chicken and pork that can please your palate.
An abundant variety of vegetables is also permitted, especially the leafy greens. Experiment with the best way to doctor up your spinach, green beans and various types of lettuce. Find low-cal varieties of dressings that will make your lettuce come alive, add a pinch of garlic to your green beans, dab a bit of margarine on your spinach. Even the smallest hint of spices will make your mealtime far more enjoyable. Be careful not to add too much salt. Other spices are available that will not cause your sodium intake to skyrocket.
As for snacks, yes, you will need them. Fortunately, a plethora of fruits are allowed on the HCG diet menu. All berries are good in reasonable quantities, as are apples and oranges. Be sure to vary your fruit choices for snacks to make snacktime an anticipated few minutes each morning and afternoon. Apples are great, but if you eat two a day for a week, you might not want to ever see an apple again! Mix strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, even blackberries into your snacks. If those berries are out of season, buy them in the frozen section of the supermarket and use them on cereal or yogurt, as well as for snacktime.
A careful adoption of the HCG diet, combined with HCG drops, will enable you to lose weight steadily and sensibly. Continued good eating habits will keep the weight off for years to come. Be sure to find the tastiest options on the HCG diet menu, so that you look forward to meals and savor your times set aside for eating.
