How Does The HCG Diet Work?
What is the hCG Ultra Diet Program?
The effectiveness of the hormone hCG is best realized when coupled with controlled calorie intake during the hCG cycle. The over-all goal of the hCG Ultra Diet program is not just to shed those excess pounds, but to keep them off in the long run.
How long do I need to be on the hCG Ultra program?
It depends. If you want to lose a modest amount of fat, say 20 pounds, the program could only last as short as 15 days. If you intend to get rid of more than 40 pounds of fat, a 60-day hCG cycle is more appropriate. The average weight that can be lost in the hCG program is 1-2 pounds a day, so the length of the diet really depends on how slim and trim you want to go.
Why do I need to go on a diet? Shouldn’t the hormone do the job of burning fat?
It is true that by stimulating the hypothalamus through hCG drops, it utilizes the body’s fat reserves that otherwise are difficult to get rid of. Food consumption need to be adherent to a custom diet so the body does not pile on additional fat. The goal is to reset the body’s metabolic process. Calorie restriction allows the body to “cleanse” itself of slow-moving fat that has not been utilized for a long time.
How much am I allowed to eat every day?
Three meals a day for a total of 500 calories should be strictly adhered to.
Will I not get hungry with only five hundred calories?
You won’t. Hunger is a function of your hypothalamus when it is short of fuels to burn. The hypothalamus releases the hormones grehlin and leptin to stimulate your appetite, so you replenish the spent fuel fast. With hCG, your body gets most of its resources from the stored fat. Five hundred calories is enough to support the rest of your body’s basal metabolic processes. With no need for additional calories, the hypothalamus does not release appetite-triggering hormones. With appetite well under control, you will not have hunger pangs or starchy cravings.
What if I overeat?
If you do make lapses, just be sure to return to the custom diet the very next meal.
What can I expect while on the hCG diet?
You eat like you normally would during the first two days of the program, without over-indulging. Take 25 drops of the hCG liquid before each meal. One drop is equivalent to ½ to ¾ of a dropper.
This prepares the body for the weight-loss process it is going to undergo, while allowing hCG to get into the system and kick-start its appetite-suppressing property. That way, on the third day and henceforth, the body does not crave for more fuel than it needs.
You will also be expected to strictly adhere to the meal plans: lean protein from white chicken, fish and sea foods, white pork and venison, but no red meat. Leafy greens and cruciferous vegetables (like cabbage) are highly recommended, as well as high-fiber fruits like apples, pears, oranges, and berries (raspberries, blueberries, strawberries).
What can I expect after the hCG diet?
To prevent sudden weight gain, you will be restricted to eat sugary and starchy foods for two to three weeks following one hCG cycle. Then you will gradually reintroduce these foods, in moderate amounts, into your regular meal. You will also be recommended to do moderate exercise three times a week. The goal is to sustain your ideal weight while resuming normal eating habits, ideally focusing on vegetables and lean protein.
What else do I need to keep in mind while on the diet?
It is important that you drink plenty of water, at least 100 ounces a day (10-12 glasses) while on the hCG cycle. The logic is simple: Water is essential to all metabolic processes, and water is all the more needed to move stagnant fat out the system – fast.
You can drink coffee and tea, but they can stimulate hunger (which will upset your daily calorie intake). Alcohol is altogether prohibited during the cycle.
